SAVING AND SHARING THE VENUE

This week, the work moved beyond getting a venue into Prevision. Imported venues and other 3D assets can now be saved, while FBX files can be distributed across a network session. A model brought into the runtime is becoming something a team can return to and work with together.

Multiplayer reliability received a substantial pass. Projectors and NDI now work across the session, and general saving and loading work in multiplayer as well. The player’s position is saved instead of resetting to the origin. After loading, Prevision now updates the loaded state’s name correctly.

The projector workflow also retains more of its state. A saved session now restores the projector list instead of showing only its last row, and the default test grid value is recorded in the save file. The remote displays the correct projector name. Deleting a projector no longer leaves an empty entry when the list is sorted, and a projection grid generator replaces the previous one-size-fits-all grid.

The workspace has become easier to navigate. An expandable tools button shows the tools available to the user’s profile, while the Toolbox brings annotation, snapshots, X-ray, measurement, and bookmarks into one menu. Fly and Walk share a toggle. Scenic import has its own window, and loading a GLB now displays progress rather than appearing to freeze.

Session controls have caught up with the rest of the workflow. A main menu offers Save and Exit and Exit Without Saving, shows how long it has been since the last save, and warns a host when leaving would end the session for connected clients. A new key mechanism also gives the team a way to manage distributed versions.

Twenty-five tasks had both an estimate and a recorded completion time. Together, they took 32 hours and 11 minutesagainst an estimate of 75 hours and 30 minutes. Saving imported venues and assets was the largest difference in that set: three hours recorded against a 24-hour estimate. Tasks without both figures are excluded from this comparison.

Prevision v0.33.17 closes a practical gap opened by runtime venue import. The venue can now be saved, shared, and managed through a more complete session workflow, with cleaner controls around it.

  5. Added a distance measurement mechanism and a metric/imperial setting.

  6. Added a projection grid generator.

NETWORKING, SAVE, AND PROJECTOR FIXES

  1. Fixed multiplayer behavior for projectors and NDI, and for general saving and loading.

  2. Saved the player’s position and corrected the loaded state’s displayed name.

  3. Fixed projector lists restoring only the last row after a save.

  4. Recorded the default test grid value in save files so projector output returns on load.

  5. Fixed the projector remote displaying another projector’s name.

  6. Removed empty “ghost” entries left in sorted lists after a projector is deleted.

LIGHTING AND WORKSPACE

  1. Made spawned lights use the LX widget value and respond to the Interior Light slider on clients.

  2. Organized emissive objects for lighting control.

  3. Added an expandable tools button and a Toolbox for annotation, snapshots, X-ray, measurement, and bookmarks.

  4. Combined Fly and Walk into one toggle, removed Scale and Orbit passenger controls, and added a Scenic import window.

  5. Added a venue grid floor and refined the import window’s background.

  6. Added GLB loading feedback with a progress indicator and elapsed timer.

INTERFACE UPDATES
